Volunteer

Willingness and ability to visit your countrymen or a person who speaks your language in prison. The selection process will contain a conversation with a member of the PrisonWatch team, a proof of good conduct and a reference-check. Once you succeed you will follow a one-day training course.

Volunteers receive a one-day training where they learn more about visiting prisoners, the do’s and dont’s, the special needs of foreign national prisoners, cultural differences, etc. etc..

PrisonWatch ensures that matches between foreign national prisoners and volunteers are establised.

Volunteers pay social visits on a voluntary basis. If necessary they can be compensated in their travel costs (€0,19 cent per kilometre).

Volunteers are invited twice per year for a social event where they hear what is going on and to meet other volunteers.
